DAY 01

Arrive in glorious Cape Town, collect your car and check in at your hotel of choice. Take a fantastically scenic drive along the Atlantic Seaboard via the red carpet coastal suburbs of Llandudno, Camps Bay and Clifton, to enjoy the several pristine beaches along this impressive coastal stretch. Go out and sample some of Cape Town’s superb nightlife: make your choice of entertainments.

DAY 02

Take the cable car up to the summit of Table Mountain, where the views are  glorious. Other sightseeing options in the peninsula are the pretty harbour village of Hout Bay, Chapmans Peak Drive, Noordhoek Beach, Cape Point, the penguin colony at Boulders Beach in the naval town of Simons Town, and the quaint harbour village of Kalk Bay (a good lunch stop). The V& A Waterfront is also a popular attraction, and from there you can take a boat tour to Robben Island. Another attraction well worth visiting is Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens.

DAY 03

After breakfast, check out of the hotel and drive up the West Coast to Paternoster (about 165 km) and check in at your hotel. There are numerous attractions and places of beauty in and around Paternoster to explore.   Enjoy a wonderfully cosy dinner in-house.

DAY 04

Check out after breakfast, which could be preceded by a short beach stroll if you’re an early riser, and drive to your destination in the Cederberg area (about 200 km). Arrivals need to be before 17H00. Here there are vast open plains, ancient rock formations, crystal-clear waterfalls, and many varieties of plants and animals. Get some pampering at an on-site wellness spa that uses products made from indigenous plants, and then enjoy a late afternoon nature drive, returning to dine in one of several beautiful locations.

DAY 05

Enjoy a delicious breakfast before going out on a guided walking excursion to view ancient San rock art sites. You can also choose from a range of other outdoor activities, including swimming, biking and canoeing. Go out into the scenic reserve with a guide in the late afternoon to enjoy the animals and plants. Return to another wonderful dinner at the lodge.

OVERNIGHT IN THE CEDERBERG

DAY 06

Check out after breakfast and drive to the Robertson Wine Valley, sheltered by the Langeberg mountains and nurtured by the Breede River (about 300 km). The pretty town of Robertson is more than 150 years old, and is graced with many quaint Victorian buildings, Jacaranda trees and vineyards. Explore the Robertson Art Route, visit a local winery or olive farm, visit bird sanctuaries, museums, or see what else takes your fancy.

OVERNIGHT IN ROBERTSON

DAY 07

After breakfast, check out of the hotel and drive to Walker Bay (about 140 km). Check in at your accommodation base in a private nature reserve. Do a forest walk or a hiking trail, and go out with your hosts on a 4×4 mountain drive to view local fynbos. Horse trails are also on offer from the lodge. Enjoy dinner at the lodge, and retire to a spacious suite at either Garden Lodge or Forest Lodge.

OVERNIGHT AT GROOTBOS PRIVATE NATURE RESERVE

DAY 08

Fill your day with wonderful outdoor activities in the company of environmentalists. These could include beach hikes to view coastal caves, boat tours to see seals and African penguins, whale-watching in season, and shark-cage diving expeditions for the brave-hearted. You could also drive to nearby Hermanus and visit its beaches and nature reserve.

OVERNIGHT AT GROOTBOS PRIVATE NATURE RESERVE

DAY 09

Check out after breakfast and drive to the winelands town of Franschhoek (about 100 km). Explore the pretty historic area originally settled by the French Huguenots. Hailed the Food & Wine Capital of South Africa, Franschhoek is well endowed with outstanding eateries, and of course, many beautiful wine estates.  The Rond & Bont Route includes several local attractions.

OVERNIGHT AT A LODGE IN FRANSCHHOEK

DAY 10

Check out of your hotel after breakfast. Do a wine tasting at one of the local wine estates before returning to Cape Town (about 72 km).
