What better weekend companions than whales, wine and music – and all of this in the exquisite setting of the De Hoop Nature Reserve in the Western Cape. Enjoy the De Hoop Collection’s wonderful weekend of music with Malané Hofmeyr-Burger on flute, Peta Ann Holdcroft on cello, Marjan Vonk on viola and Irina Tsonif and Ivo Ivanov on violin. Wines from the Overberg region will only enhance an already-majestic experience, as will viewing of the Southern Right Whales!

De Hoop DunesJill Kemp, a London-based recorder player, will also host a musical appreciation talk in the Whale Bone Bar on the Friday evening, followed by a performance at the Fig Tree Restaurant where a special 5-course gourmet food and wine pairing meal will be served.

On Saturday, local wine makers from Elim, Napier, Agulhas and surrounding areas will put on wine tasting in a superb setting. On Saturday evening, musicians from the Johannesburg Philharmonic orchestra will perform a Whale Time serenade with music for strings and flute. The weekend will also include guided walks and a picnic on the sand dunes watching the Southern Right Whales.
