DAYS 01 – 04 KRUGER NATIONAL PARK
Fly from Johannesburg to either Kruger Mpumalanga Airport, Skukuza or Hoedspruit Airport, depending on your chosen safari destination, and then transfer by road to a luxury safari lodge in the celebrated Kruger National Park. A small number of private concessions within the Kruger Park have been granted to private luxury lodges – exquisite safari outposts that are set away from the camps administered by South African National Parks, and have their own traversing territory. Guided safari drives are usually done on both private gravel roads within the concession and on Kruger National Park roads. Enjoy early morning game drives; late afternoon drives that continue after dark; sundowners in the wilderness; and guided foot safaris. Relax at beautiful pool decks between safaris and feast on wonderful food and wine, usually enjoyed outdoors in a variety of settings.

DAY 04 – 05 PRETORIA
Transfer to the airport from the Kruger National Park and fly to Johannesburg, and then transfer to your hotel by road (about 35 minutes). Castello di Monte’s sauna and steam room will rejuvenate after a safari and ready you for an excellent dinner in a grand dining hall.
Spend 1 night at Castello di Monte (or add an additional night in Pretoria and do a guided day tour of The Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site.)
DAYS 05 – 07 ROVOS RAIL PRETORIA – DURBAN
Check out of the hotel in Pretoria and transfer to Capital Park Railway Station for reception before boarding Rovos Rail. Experience the charm of a 3-day, 2-night luxury rail trip between Pretoria and Durban. On Day 2 the trip features a safari excursion in the Big Five Nambiti Game Reserve and a guided battlefields tour in the Spionkop area of KwaZulu-Natal. Day 3 includes an off-train excursion to a ceramics gallery as well as an equestrian display.The third day also features a spectacularly scenic route through the Valley of a Thousand Hills to Durban, where the train journey ends in the late afternoon. DAYS 07 – 09 DURBAN
After disembarking from the train, transfer to your luxury hotel on the beachfront at Umhlanga. Spend two nights here, enjoying the in-house facilities of cinema, spa complex and fitness centre, a lush garden and swimming pool. The hotel offers various dining experiences, including a legendary curry buffet served in a restaurant overlooking the Indian Ocean and featuring at least 11 curries daily. Access the beach directly from the hotel, play golf nearby, do a scenic helicopter tour and explore a variety of local attractions.
Stay at The Oyster Box Hotel in Durban for 2 nights. (An optional extension is to hire a car in Durban and spend a few days in the Isimangaliso Wetland Park, South Africa’s First World heritage Site.)
DAYS 09 – 12
Check out of your Durban hotel and fly to Cape Town (flight duration 2h10). Collect a hired car and drive to your selected hotel in Cape Town (30 km). With your own transport, the city is yours to explore! Sightseeing highlights include Table Mountain (via modern aerial cableway), Robben Island (accessed by ferry) and the V&A Waterfront. Visit the Bo-Kaap, historic home of the Cape Town’s Muslim community, as well as trendy De Waterkant. Visit Cape Town’s many exceptional beaches, the Cape Point Nature Reserve, Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens and the large penguin colony at exquisite Boulders Beach. Museums and art galleries there are aplenty, along with superb eateries, nightlife and theatrical entertainments. Adventure activities abound and include kite surfing, paragliding, tree canopy adventures, mountain trails, biking tours and more.

DAYS 12 – 14 WINELANDS
Check out of your hotel in Cape Town and drive to the Stellenbosch winelands ( about 50 km), settling in at your chosen hotel. Spend the next two days delighting in the Cape’s wine country, enjoying beautifully lush landscapes, a great deal of heritage and exceptional wines. Stellenbosch has a many outstanding wineries, as do the neighbouring wine regions of Paarl and Franschhoek which are easily visited from Stellenbosch.
Overnight at a Winelands hotel for 2 nights.
Check out of your hotel and drive to Cape Town International Airport, where you will return the hired car before your flight or connecting flight home.
