Exclusive Getaways Golang Education Programme

Exclusive Getaways supports the Golang Education Programme, an outreach project aimed at the children and young adults of the Golang Informal Settlement. Money donated goes towards food, education and school uniforms. Many schoolchildren in South Africa are starving and receiving inadiquate education. This project is aimed at alleviating this problem.

Exclusive Getaways supports the Golang Education Programme, an initiative aspiring to create hope for the people of Zandspruit, an informal settlement north-east of Johannesburg. Approximately 48 000 people live at Zandspruit, and of this number about 18 000 are children and young teenagers. Many are orphans, some are from one-parent families, and all in the community struggle against poverty and widespread unemployment.
The Golang Education Outreach Programme was started in January 2004, providing some 200 children with fortified breakfast each day before they go to school, as well as uniforms, fees, and a supervised after-school facility where additional skills are taught by volunteers.
