A safari is that bit more exciting when your base is a tent. Come and enjoy Kwafubesi‘s very comfy, en-suite safari tents – there are just five and each has its own viewing deck that grants you glorious views of those beautiful amber plains of Limpopo. This tented safari camp is in the well-known Mabula Game Reserve at Bela Bela – the old Warmbaths. In case it’s any concern, this area does not carry a malaria risk. Best news is …
For South African residents there’s a special of R1240 per person sharing per night that is running at Kwafubesi between March and May 2015. This rate includes your tented accommodation, all meals and two game drives daily. There’s also horse riding at Kwafubesi. Mail us to book for you. This special is for South African residents only and does not apply to long weekends and public holidays.
The tents are positioned along a treeline, on the edge of the magnificent Mvubu plain, where you are full-square in the wilderness. It’s the territory of the Big Five, this, and 12 000 hectares is yours to explore with your ranger. The open-plain views from the tents are wonderful, and you’re likely to spot game from your tented base. Of course, the daily safari drives will bring some great sightings too.
Until recently Kwafubesi operated electricity-free, and kindled a wonderful Out-of-africa ambience of candle- and lantern-light. But let’s face it, there are also some distinct advantages to having electric lights, fans and heaters! This is all available now, thanks to the recent installation of Eskom power in the camp.
Meals are wonderful close-to-nature occasions, taken in the glow of oil lamps out in the thatched lapa or in the boma.
