Join Thanda’s specialist rhino monitors who locate and record data on black and white rhinos on a daily basis. This is a 3 to 4-hour activity, which is offered daily on request, to a maximum of 4 guests. The activity is charged for additionally and not included in the daily accommodation rate.
RHINO DARTING IN THANDA PRIVATE GAME RESERVE
Being in close contact with a rhino is a privileged opportunity, which is available to Thanda’s guests. Accompany a wildlife team for the darting of a rhino and assist with notching the sedated animal for identification and research purposes. Once this procedure is complete, the rhino is released back into the wild. This is a half-day customised activity, available on request to a maximum of 14 guests, and charged for additionally.
CHEETAH TRACKING IN THANDA PRIVATE GAME RESERVE
Cheetah tracking in Thanda Private Game Reserve starts just before sunrise and continues for 3 to 4-hours. Guests help the wildlife conservation team to track and identify cheetah whilst learning about their ecology, the threats to the species, their behaviour and feeding patterns, and more. This customised activity is available daily on request, to a maximum of 4 guests, and charged for additionally.
