About Ganora Guestfarm

Ganora Guestfarm welcomes guests to a working sheep farm situated just outside Nieu Bethesda in the foothills of the majestic Sneeuberg Range. This is an enchanting world in the heartland of the Great Karoo. The farmstead and guest cottages are set deep in the slopes of a space sculpted into the bedrock by ancient rivers in prehistoric times. Interesting rock formations and rich fossil beds can be found on the farm and guests have access to these on guided paleontology excursions. A highlight of your stay at Ganora will be the Karoo fossils of the pre-dinosaur age - on average 252 million years old! Ganora is the custodian of a large private fossil collection, and guests are offered fossil walkabouts and talks, and can also enjoy viewings of Bushman artifacts. Other memorable excursions include rock art sightings, a medicinal plant walk and tours of a working sheep farm. Research projects and rehabilitation of animals is also undertaken on the farm. Accommodation is quality 3-star, and there are four different accommodation types. Accommodation is family-friendly and offered on a bed & breakfast basis, with dinners and lunches available on request. There is also a self-catering cottage on the property.
