The Blue Train

The Blue Train is a classically romantic and memorable way to appreciate South Africa's awe-inspiring mountain vistas, vast desert landscapes and savannah grasslands. Relax and enjoy a luxurious rail journey, capturing the elegance of grand overland adventures. Accommodation on the train is in either a De Luxe or Luxury Suite. The De Luxe Suite offers an elegant lounge by day, converting at night into a bedroom equipped with quality bedding, individually-controlled air-conditioning, underfloor heating, and a stylish marble bathroom. The Luxury Suite  extends the De Luxe Suite offering by an additional metre of living space, with twin or double bedded suite, luxurious bath tub, and private digital entertainment system with a selection of music CDs and big-screen movies on Blue-Ray DVD. The standard Blue Train routes are as follows:   PRETORIA • CAPE TOWN This is a 54-hour journey of 1 600 kilometres, through diverse and spectacular scenery, with off-train excursions at Kimberley and Matjiesfontein..   PRETORIA • KRUGER NATIONAL PARK These one-way, 19-hour journeys take place on selected months of the year, and offer combination packages with the private safari lodges in the Greater Kruger and Sabi Sands areas.   Mail us
