A wonderful way to experience South Africa’s wildlife is to participate first-hand in conservation activities. Jaci’s Lodges in Madikwe Game Reserve, South Africa, offers hands-on conservation safaris, and at the same time, provides incredible twice-daily safari excursions; fabulous upbeat accommodation; great food and excellent service. Make a difference to wildlife conservation and indulge in all the wonder of a luxury conservation safari in South Africa.
A conservation safari at Jaci’s Lodges can include notching and microchipping of rhino; collaring of elephants; and collecting genetic material for the recording, tracking and protection of endangered wildlife; branding of lions; and help with African wild dog relocation.

The conservation safaris are conducted under the guidance of a wildlife veterinarian with specific training in immobilisation of wild animals. Part of the work is done from a low-flying helicopter. Field rangers assist the conservation team in the tasks at hand.
Accommodation is at Jaci’s Safari Lodge or Jaci’s Tree Camp. Both are hugely appealing. Tree Camp provides elevated treehouse-style rooms, whilst Safari Lodge offers gorgeous tented safari suites, or private family suites. Huge romantic baths, outdoor jungle-showers, vibrant decor and fire-cooked meals add to an exceptional ambience.
