Tutwa guests can look forward to being taken on a drive through an impressive dry river bed to reach the Orange River where guests can do a nature paddle on a still part of the river, in a perfectly untainted world. Here on the river you could be keeping company with antelope who come to drink, or even with the occasional otter.
Wildlife Experiences at Tutwa Desert Lodge
There are game drives every morning and evening, as well as walking excursions, revealing the wildlife and the unique plants of the area. Leopard, giraffe and zebra inhabit this desert. So do springbok, gemsbok and other plains game. Meerkat and aardwolf, klipspringer, porcupine and aardvark – all are at home here. Raptors are plentiful too in this wondrous desert.
Conservation is a priority at Tutwa. The river and the leopards of the area are actively protected by the Tutwa team.
