DAY 01
From O R Tambo International Airport, take a domestic flight to Durban International Airport & collect hired vehicle. Enjoy a picturesque drive into the lush Midlands, to the Mooi River area (about 133 km drive).

After breakfast, spend the day exploring the Midlands Meander – a wonderful country route of arts and crafts, eateries and local activities, or do some hiking / cycling / horse riding in crisp country air and most beautiful surroundings.

After breakfast, check out of the hotel and head towards the battlefields regions of Rorke’s Drift or Spioenkop. Enjoy an afternoon tour with a guide, or explore a nature reserve on horseback.

DAY 04
After breakfast, hear more about the battles of bravery in the area. Shaka, Winston Churchill, Mahatma Gandhi and General Louis Botha were all part of the historical weave of the KwaZulu-Natal battlefields. Guides breathe life into tales of long-ago battles and skirmishes, making vivid the events of the Anglo-Zulu Wars. If tales of warfare have no appeal, spend the day out in nature, mountain biking, hiking, or horse riding. Lazing at the pool is another way to enjoy the vast open landscapes of this region.

DAY 05
After breakfast, check out of the hotel and drive to the iSimangaliso Wetland Park area, an exceptional World Heritage Site (approximately a 450 km drive). From here you will be able to access the famous Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park where lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo, giraffe, and a multitude of antelope can be seen. Hippos and crocodiles abound on Lake St Lucia, and birdlife is also plentiful.

After breakfast, leisure options include a birding walk in the sand forests, horseback trail, an excursion into the wetlands, or a game-viewing drive in the bushveld. You could also take a boat cruise or a hippo/croc tour.

DAY 07
After breakfast, check out of the hotel and depart for the Mkuze Game Reserve or Pongola in the north of KwaZulu-Natal. Activities include exciting Big Five game excursions, bush walks, boat cruises and fishing.

DAY 08
An early morning game drive precedes a hearty breakfast. Spend the rest of the morning at leisure or enjoy a guided bush walk. Enjoy lunch and relax at the lodge until the late afternoon / evening game drive which is followed by dinner.

DAY 09
After the early morning game drive and breakfast check out of the lodge and drive along the Elephant Coast towards Mabibi Bay (approximately a 270 km drive). Take up the undemanding art of barefoot beach luxury just a skip away from your private beach lodge, followed later in the day by sundowners at Lake Sibaya.
DAY 10
Choose from a variety of activities including snorkeling, scuba diving or canoeing on Lake Sibaya. After lunch spend the afternoon on a beautiful remote beach, swimming, walking and collecting shells. Between November and February, awesome guided turtle-tracking adventures take place on the beach after nightfall.
DAY 11
Enjoy another day exploring the wonders of Isimangaliso Wetland Park.

DAY 12
Check out of the lodge after breakfast and drive back to Durban. Return hired car and take a flight back to Johannesburg or head for Cape Town. Alternatively, extend the tour to spend a night or two in Durban.
