The gorgeous Garonga Safari Camp holds rank as TripAdvisor’s Top All-Inclusive Resort in the World. Now that’s no mean feat!
Small and intimate, and with the particular needs of each individual guest in mind, sublime Garonga and its exclusive-use younger sister Little Garonga make a wonderful choice for a honeymoon. It’s also a special place to have an unhurried self-retreat in a beautiful setting.
Set in the greater Makalali Conservancy west of the Kruger National Park, Garonga offers a brand of effortless exclusivity. Dial yourself back to zero and enjoy the fascinations of the African wilderness at this utterly beautiful and calming sanctuary. You’ll have an intimate encounter with the wilderness that is bound to smooth over every inner wrinkle and rumple, leaving you feeling fresh and re-invented. And at a very good rate too.
Just a handful of luxury tents are positioned along a dry riverbed, each with a wooden viewing deck which is kitted out with a most inviting hammock – just the place to lazily while away the hours and rest, rest, and rest some more. Inside, the tents are light and spacious with large, draped beds. In addition to the indoor shower, there is also an outdoor shower, for those who might enjoy a cleansing ritual beneath a big starry sky.
At Garonga you also have the option of enjoying the bushveld from an utterly awesome open-air bathtub. Mmmm, this really is the life …
Activities include guided game drives, wilderness walks, sleep-outs, and aromatherapy and reflexology sessions if you’d like them. If you opt for a bush sleepout, you’ll sleep on a beautiful deck set a distance away from the lodge, with fantastic views of the bush. A picnic hamper, drinks box, and selection of hot drinks are left for you at the deck. You are also provided with a radio for your overnight bush stay, after which you will get collected in the morning. This little bit of adventure is, of course, entirely optional; you’re most welcome to spend all your nights in the camp, ensconced in your beautiful tent.
At the Sala – overlooking the bush, quite naturally – you can have aromatherapy and reflexology treatments, as well as Indian head massage, and Hot Stone Therapy in winter.
